BBC NEWS | Have Your Say | Should music file-sharers be fined?: "The real deal is that artists don't make much money from the sale of CDs. They make their money from tours and live concerts etc. The CD money goes to the huge record companies and distributors for promotion and advertising and greedy pockets."
Hundreds of comments but only 1 stating most important thing... thought I should write that only in poor old Poland musician could have never made a living from LPs, MCs, or CDs... but it seems not only here we face this problem... so that little Brianna (2 posts earlier) should never worry about hurting any artist by swapping files... and why is it illegal? because law is always on the side of who's paying more...
also reading those comments I've learned a new argument: why does a CD is the same price (or sometimes higher) as DVD? I doubt that producing an album could be compared with producing a film... or maybe... hmmm ;) ...
me, I'll always be in for keeping Internet and everything in it free...
I realize it's utopia, not even reasonable... but...
another thing: good music always had to be revolutionary in any sense... times when socialism forbid playing black music, when U were not allowed to play r'n'r in jazz clubs... it was illegal but music survived... I-net swapping seems to be another revolution for music to break from the chains of big fat companies...
so it's illegal... REVOLUTION HAS ALWAYS BEEN ILLEGAL...
